Quick and Easy Ideas to Decorate Your Halls this Holiday Season

The holiday season can be a busy time, filled with parties with friends and family, shopping for the perfect gift, and holiday preparations that you may put decorating your home on the back burner. We have some quick and easy ways to decorate your home this holiday season to bring the festivities to life!

Decorate Your Doors

Doors are a great way to add some holiday sparkle and shine. Try adding some string lights on and around your doorway to bring a nice glow. You can also add a holiday wreath with some bows and ornaments for festive colors. Fresh sprigs and garland also adds a nice touch with the holiday scents of evergreen. Your guests will be pleasantly greeted with holiday cheer when they come up to your door!

Ornaments Are Not Just for Trees

If you are skipping the holiday tree this year, you can still hang ornaments throughout your home. Make use of furniture knobs to hang a few special ones that you want to display. You can even take some ribbon and thread a couple through and tie it around your staircase railing to dress it up a bit. Slip some twine through an ornament and tie it around the back of your chair for a simple touch of the holiday. You can choose ornaments that are tailored to the person who will sit in the chair, or to match a particular theme you have in mind.

Reuse Old Holiday Cards

After the holiday season, it’s always a question of what to do with the old cards. You could just throw them away, but recycling them is a better option and more fun. There are lots of ways to take those cards and give them a second use. An easy way you can spread the cheer is to turn them into gift tags by punching a hole for string or ribbon and cutting it down to the size you need.  For those cards with beautiful images and designs on the front of them, why not put them in a frame and display them around your home to help distribute the decorations throughout your home? This can be something you can keep for years to come as well.

Set Your Table

Your dining room table is another place where you can add some decorations. Display your seasonal plates and cups with placemats to compliment your overall theme. Place small festive cutouts on the plates to add a touch of elegance.  Placing a table runner also is a quick and easy way to dress up a boring table and doesn’t take much time. You can then add to it as you see fit to complete your overall look. Add a centerpiece of candles and or greenery to transform your table into a holiday masterpiece. Cranberries in a small candle votive holder sets the tone nicely when complemented with some ornaments.
